Redevelopment plan for old student halls

Outline planning permission is being sought to demolish disused halls of residence in Reading and replace them with a 34-home estate.

Reading Borough Council this week validated the application for Wells Hall in Upper Redlands Road, pending further consideration.

The planning request covers the former halls, all other buildings, and landscaping.

Last year the University of Reading held roadshows covering its “early-stage” proposals for redeveloping the site.
