Premier League footballer Kevin Doyle has bought a flat in the new Reading development of Chatham Place (Sourced from the Daily Mail.)
 
The Irish international played for Reading last year before being transferred to Wolves, and has bought a two-bedroom flat at the new, ten-storey, 221-flat complex which is five minutes from the town centre and railway station. read more

Mixed use scheme planned

Blue Living Limited has applied to West Berkshire Council to provide up to 750 dwellings, a healthcare centre, library, business and community forum, nursery/crèche, up to six shops, 40 bed hotel with spa and gym facilities on a site near Pincents Lane in Tilehurst. Thames Water relocates from Swindon

Thames Water is to set up a 43,000 sq ft operations management office at Green Park in Reading and is to relocate 135 jobs from its Operations Customer Centre in Swindon next April. Read about this and other relocations in Reading enews. read more

Whilst the last 18 months has been difficult for everyone in business, Reading has been more resilient than most towns and cities. Perhaps the best news is that Station Hill has secured planning permission along with a new station entrance building. read more

New retailers in store at mall

TWO major new retailers have signed up to move into the Broad Street Mall bringing more than 30 new jobs.(Sourced from the Reading Chronicle.)
 
The former Zavvi unit on the corner of St Mary's Butts is to become Ethel Austin while the Adams unit inside the main entrance is to become Modelzone. read more
